Anne Blackwell, Traditional Midwife
Birth Assistant

Ann has been supporting birthing families since 1990. She began her path in nursing school and went on to work as an OB nurse for over ten years. She eventually grew disheartened by the lack of respect and autonomy given to mothers in the hospital setting and was pulled back toward traditional midwifery, where the birthing woman is honored, not managed. With a long standing devotion to birthwork, Ann brings a calm, grounded presence to every birth she attends. Her deep well of traditional wisdom and peaceful nature helps families feel safe and supported.  She has spent three years at Maya Midwifery Birth Center in Guatemala, where she facilitates educational enrichment classes for students and families, an experience that further deepened her belief in community-based care.

Ann and Candice have worked together for over 12 years. They have a natural rhythm in the birth space. They also laugh….a lot. The wild beauty of birth work at 3am brings both joy and confidence to the families they serve.

Ann also supports her own clients, many of whom are drawn to her gentle spirit and peaceful presence. Families often share that just being around her makes the room feel calmer. She knows when to hold space and when to simply let the process unfold. If you're looking for someone who carries wisdom, a calming nature, and a deep respect for birth choices, Ann is the kind of person you’ll be grateful to have on your team!

Shannon Greika, CDEM, CPM

Divine Birth Midwifery

I'm blessed to work alongside Shannon Greika, CDEM, CPM, of Divine Birth Midwifery - my former preceptor, now trusted colleague and friend. Shannon and I share the same welcoming office space, alongside wonderful lactation consultants and a skilled massage therapist. We also collaborate closely, sharing call coverage and providing mutual support to ensure that our clients always have access to experienced midwifery care. While we each aim to attend our own clients’ births, there are times when a second midwife is needed - whether for an extra set of hands or overlapping birth days. You’re welcome to schedule a prenatal visit with Shannon so her presence feels familiar and reassuring.

My goal is to offer you the peace of mind that no matter how your baby’s birth day unfolds, you’ll be surrounded by people who are not only highly skilled, but deeply invested in your experience 🌻
